A Brief Introduction to Photo Identification and Preservation

The Society of American Archivists Student Chapter at QC is proud to present a lecture  by Kevin Schlottmann on Monday April 30, 7:00pm – 8:30pm at Queens College, Rosenthal Library, Presidential Conference Room 1).

This workshop will present a brief introduction to identification and preservation of photographs.  It will cover visual literacy, the photographic processes and formats most commonly found in archives, and recommendations for storage and care.  Physical samples will be available for inspection, and the workshop will end with a brief identification exercise.

Kevin Schottmann is a 2009 Queens College Alum.  He is the processing archivist for the Center for Jewish History.   Kevin has offered other lectures to GSLIS students in the past – including EAD workshops.
